Total Knee Replacement At-Home Therapy

Following Total Knee Replacement, continuing therapy at home is very important. You will be given a home exercise program during your time in therapy to perform on days that you are not in clinic. These exercises help to reinforce the progress you make during therapy and allow you to progress to more difficult exercises while in clinic. Some of these exercises can include:

    • Heel slides
    • Quad sets
    • Knee extension hang

Your home exercises for total knee replacement will progress along with your progression in clinic. Your program will be created by your therapist and include pictures, descriptions, and how many times to perform each one. Your therapist will make sure you have a clear understanding of each exercise and can perform them correctly.
