Your physical therapist will provide you with a home exercise program developed to help alleviate your headaches. These exercises may focus on postural awareness, stretching, strengthening, or muscle energy techniques. It is important for you to perform the exercises as your physical therapist prescribes and report any relief or aggravation of symptoms at your next visit. Your PT may also provide you with possible triggers that may aggravate your headache, including bright lights, screen time, bad posture, missing meals, water intake, inadequate sleep, etc.; your therapist will help you think of ways to try to avoid or reduce your exposure to them. It is also important to track your symptoms as your treatment progresses; it may provide more insight on how to help treat your headaches.
