JoAnne Smith lived with a headache for two weeks that was so bad that she had to hold the top of her head when brushing her teeth. She finally went to her orthopedic doctor and was told she had extreme inflammation at the right side base of her skull. She had been to Elite before and had dry needling treatments to help with her back pain, so she decided to come to us again.
JoAnn came to see Dr. Josh Melchior, our physical therapist at Elite PT and Balance. She had a great deal of muscular tightness in her cervical spine, upper trapezius, and in her suboccipital muscles at the base of her skull. JoAnn saw almost immediate improvement after her first dry needling session, and when combined with her exercises and her personalized at-home program, JoAnn is well on her way to a full recovery.
JoAnn enjoys ranch riding with her quarter horses, playing golf and riding bikes. After 3 weeks of physical therapy and dry needling, JoAnn is back on her bike and hopes to be back on her horse and playing golf next week.
