Christie Huggins is a patient our Cool Springs clinic in Franklin. When Christie was a teenager, she had a bad automobile accident on the Interstate where she topped a hill to a backup of cars from a wreck a mile or so ahead. Not having time to even hit her brakes, she veered to the right to miss the car but clipped the back end of the automobile. The wreck caused her to hit her head and at the time, the incident induced a stretch of Bells Palsy to the right side of her face. She recovered from the nerve damage from the head trauma, but to this day she still has TMJ in her jaw.
To assist with the pain from the TMJ, Elite has started a series of dry needling along her jaw line. Christie states that there is a lot of temporary relief from the dry needling. It is not a pain that seems to go away forever, but returns on occasion due to stress that often leads to her clinching her teeth at night. When this stress and subsequent pain returns, another appointment for dry needling does the trick.
Christie says that she loves the employees at Elite with all her heart. They are so nice and encouraging. Dry needling is a real skill, and even though it can be a little painful at times, the payoff is well worth it, she claims. She not only does her dry needling there, but takes her whole family for therapeutic relief. “It’s funny, we make family appointments. The staff is like, look who it is, the Huggins family. They are so good to all of us. The greatest people in the world, some of our dearest friends,” she states.
