Ashlee Cates’ Trauma Recovery

I was involved in a car accident on March 16, 2020. I had serious injuries which included two severe breaks in my femur and three fractured vertebrae’s in my neck.

After leaving Vanderbilt I was transported to a rehabilitation facility. My stay was during the COVID pandemic and I was unable to see my family. I made the decision to go home a few days later and that began my journey with Elite Physical Therapy.

When I began physical therapy I was wearing a leg immobilizer, neck brace, and walking with the assistance of a walker. I could not bend my left leg at all and had limited mobility with my right leg. I was completely dependent on the help of my family to do anything.

The staff at Elite has been phenomenal! They have all been patient with me while pushing me to where I need to be. Thanks to them, I have gained back my independence. I have been cleared by my neurologist thanks to the exercises we did for my neck fractures. I no longer walk with any kind of assistance.

I have grown to love, trust, and appreciate the staff at Elite. I would recommend Elite Physical Therapy to anyone needing physical therapy.
